肖战肖战正能量艺人 X玖少年团肖战DAYTOYI don’t know why I’ve this sudden impulse to talk about my XFX journey. Perhaps I was really touched and inspired by some I-XFXs during the latest MFW. I’m glad to see many familiar names who are still around five years on.
It all began in autumn 2019 with CQL. Embarrassingly, I actually abandoned it after 5 episodes in my first attempt. But when I reached ep 20 where WWX waltzed into the room with his dark aura after 3 months in the Burial Mound, I was completely sold. That was a one-way ticket to the bunny burrow. IMO, 肖战 totally carried the drama on his shoulders with his compelling acting. Of course, the scriptwriters also deserve the accolades.
In no time, 肖战 broke all my wrongly held stereotypical perception of an actor or singer. His articulacy, passion and positive energy oozed out so effortlessly. Besides his always-giving-his-best-effort work ethics, his persona befits his personality. If he appears humble and well-mannered in public, he is truly so in real life. No one can consistently put on such a mask if it wasn’t part of their innate character.
During CQL’s heyday, I saw tell-tale signs of how one side was so determined to sideline 肖战’s effort in the drama where he is the titular protagonist (okay.. strictly speaking, it refers to his flute). Back then every merit has to be credited to the “double protagonists”. What complete and utter bollocks!
Then, “it” started. Soon, this plague spread just like the Coronavirus at that time — unhindered, unchallenged and unrestrained. I came to Weibo just to see it for myself the extent of this scourge. The more I saw, the more I was disgusted by this whole operation. It was then that I vowed: “Even if the world denounces you, this auntie will stand by you!”

So, 肖战 was the reason this dinosaur auntie started joining Weibo, WeChat, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram for the first time. In that process, I saw solidarity and unity that I’ve never imagined exist in a fandom. I felt like I belong to a community of loyalists. Every one of us in this special community has only one goal: to stand by 肖战 through thick and thin.
Soon, the tides began to change and everything started to turn for the better. Yes, I’m a firm believer of goodness will always prevails. I remember binge-watching all the 49 episodes of 狼殿下 in one go when it finally made its appearance. Then when 斗罗大陆 was aired, I had 2 screens running in parallel every day — one on CCTV and the other on Tencent. I was quite amazed by myself when I looked back on all the reviews and posts I did for 斗罗大陆. The collection of screenshots below show what a fanatic I was at that time. Never thought I’d be fan-girling and star-chasing in my 40s.
Later, my health took a backseat. I had to give up my PhD and stay away from social media in that period to recuperate. But it was 肖战 who helped me through. Somehow watching his show (especially his performances in 我们的歌) always manage to lift my spirits.
Now that I’m back, I do see an enlightening change. More and more I-XFXs are now active on Weibo. News travel faster than ever before and exchanges between both sides has never been that smooth and seamless.
So, do excuse me if I no longer post as often as before. I don’t feel like reposting news from other I-XFXs who might’ve their own Weibo accounts already.
To those who have followed me and walked this enriching journey together, I thank you. Above all, this auntie is extremely thankful to 肖战. Thank you darling for treating us as your equal with utmost respect in this reciprocal relationship and giving us your best works in return!
I’ll still be around albeit not in the same capacity as before and I’ll still write reviews on 肖战’s works and occasional rambling, that is if anyone is still interested in reading.😊
P.S. I can’t wait to watch 射雕英雄传 on the big screen and share my thoughts with you.
